Testing

Dieseljet is capable to plan, manage and execute on-demand test activities on aviation engines exploiting its testing resources. The test definition can be agreed with customer or directly derived from avionics regulations. 

Flight Stand Test Cell Services
  • Indoor engine flight test stands and support structure that allow the engine to be mounted as if it was in the airframe.
  • Engine performance measurement includes: Speed, fuel consumption, pressures, temperatures, fluid flows, heat rejection, vibrations (translational and torsional).
  • In-cylinder combustion pressure and analysis.
  • Automated test cycle control and data acquisition for standard tests and endurance testing.
  • Pressure altitude simulation.
  • Multiple grades of fuel are available at each test stand, up to (5) varieties from in-ground storage tanks.
  • Capable of running specialty fuels supplied by the barrel.
Dynamometer Test Cell Services
  • Eddy Current (EC) engine dynamometer test system capable from 60 to 1000 HP at speeds up to 10,000 RPM.
  • Test cells are capable of running both liquid and air cooled engines.
  • Engine performance measurement includes Speed, torque, power, fuel consumption, pressures, temperatures, fluid flows, heat rejection, vibration (translational and torsional)
  • In cylinder combustion pressure and analysis.
  • Automated test cycle control and data acquisition for standard tests and endurance testing.
  • Pressure altitude simulation.
  • Multiple grades of fuel are available at each test stand, up to (5) varieties from in-ground storage tanks.
  • Capable of running specialty fuels supplied by the barrel.
Engine Dynamometer Power Check

Performance test at the engine rated conditions (speed & MAP) to verify the power output of the engine meets rated specification. This test typically includes the following activities:

  • Engine installation and set-up in dynamometer test cell.
  • Short run-in (about 30 minutes).
  • 1 hour oil consumption test (typically at rated speed & power).
  • EoL power check at rated conditions.
Engine Dynamometer Calibration Test

Comprehensive engine performance test across the engine normal operating range or conditions for a specific application or mission. This test typically includes all tests listed for the Engine Dynamometer  Power Check plus the engine performance sweeps across the range of operating speeds and manifold pressure points to fully “map” the engine performance for fuel consumption and power output.
